II want honesty, no matter what it may be. I prefer 1000 times for people to write... "it's not fun to write to you anymore" than for them to just stop writing.

My name's Rachelle. I'm 28 years old and live in Pittsburgh, PA. I'd love to find one person to exchange journals with. I've started one already, so if you want to be journal pals, I'll have one to send out in a couple weeks.
I'm pretty broke, so I need to stick with the US. I'm a social work major, a Christian, a bookworm. I'll probably fill my journals with entries, thoughts, opinions, and magazine/news articles that I find interesting.

Journal/Notebook pal from Ireland?
Interests: Penpals, Arts and Crafts, Paganism, Fantasy, Cultures, Paranormal, Legends, Myths, Vampyre, Dark Themes, Photography,
How many journal pals would you like?: Maybe 2 or 3. I want someone who will definately become my journal or notebook pal for a while and won't stop halfway through without explaination.
What type of stuff do you think you might include?: Photographs of my area or country, Information on my culture, Postcards, stuff to decorate the journal, Some writing as well as print, I am open to adding anything really :) I am quite a craftsy person :P
Are you willing to be pals with someone from a different country? Keep in mind the extra postage costs: Yes!
I would like to find pals who like to write long letters and who won't stop writing after the first 2 letters or the first two journal entries or something. I like all sorts of discussions on paper, rather than just the average "what I did today" type of letter and would prefer a pal who is interested in the same.
Now let me tell you about yours truly lol (I.E. Me)
My name is Rona and I am 28 years old, living in the south east of Ireland with my husband and our dogs. I would consder myself open minded, a deep thinker, sometimes marching to the beat of my own drum lol plus I like to laugh now and again, its good for our souls wouldn't you agree?
I would consider myself a bit of a loner really, even though I come across as sociable and friendly for the most part, and I try to be as open as possible in my letters about my feelings, my life and thoughts in general... perhaps you can help me to be better at this. I am searching for honest and true friends, rather than just a penfriend that I never really get to "know"
I am also Pagan, so if you have a problem with this please do not bother writing to try and convert me. I am fine just the way I am, thanks.
Umm..what else, oh yes I better tell you about my interests...well I enjoy reading a lot, and I have a ton of books scattered around the place,I am very into movies and trying out arts and crafts (whenever I get the time to do them). Other things I like are: Animals, history, crystals, paranormal, documentaries, castles, ancient civilisations, mediaeval, tudors, owls, celtic, Scandinavia, Russia, Cultures, wolves, antartica, fairies and lots more...you can see the rest of my interests on my profile page.
So if you feel that I am someone you would like to write to, do not hesitate to message me. Maybe we can add ourselves to each friends list and see how we get on first before writing to each other, whichever you prefer, I do not mind.
This is my first time ever doing a journal with a pal, so I hope I get this right lol...
Thats about it....

Hello everyone! I just joined and am going to introduce myself! My name is Ashley
and I am eighteen
years old but my birthday is this month
and then I'll be nineteen.
I am a full-time college student
studying psychology for my bachelors, and then going on to study to be a special education teacher
. I spend most of my time at school or work.
I am working almost full-time at an assisted living home for the elderly. I have a love/hate relationship with my job. To describe my personality, I am spontaneous, determined, caring, energetic, emotionally intense, sometimes poetic, a bit clumsy, often awkward, sensual, funny, and adventerous
among other things. Most people say I'm pretty fun, and a great friend. I hope I can live up to their words. Label wise, I am female
my sexual/emotional/relational orientation is pansexual
I identify religiously as pagan
my clothing style is eclectic
. My tastes in music
are varied, as are my tastes in movies
, but I love them both. I am a gay rights activist
and am on the Eboard for my school's GSA.
My boyfriend and I spend one date night a month picking up trash. My aunt says I'm a crazy dirty hippie, I resent that-I bathe daily. I live in Monroe, Connecticut, USA.
I'm looking for any range of journal partners and am looking forward to beginning a journal with someone. However, I'd like to keep my partners to be within the U.S for now
due to shipping costs and suchthings. I'm a rather poor college student paying her bills and trying to keep afloat. Perhaps in the future I'll expand my reaches. I'd like to learn some new things
perhaps be taught about a culture
different from mine. A journal I would write would probably have-my daily happenings, pictures, news articles, things I thought were cool glued/taped inside [[Please warn me of any allergies to things that could be taped inside or an allergy to latex such as in scotch tape]] some small surprise presents. ^_^Ashley Loves: music, dancing, reading, arts and crafts, nature, hiking, adventure, the color red, butterflies, stars, lotions, candles, incense, tattoos, piercings, yogurt, bananas, new experiences, travel, chocolate, animals, camping, drumming, bonfires, home made stuffs, repurposed items, secondhand stuffs, writing, making friends, penpalling [duh]
Ashley Dislikes: close-mindedness, ricotta cheese, ranch dressing, the texture of pudding, elevators, overly small spaces with too many people in them, the cold, odd numbers, apathy towards important things especially if only becuase the people practicing it think it's "cool"
comment here and I'll send you my adress via lj messaging Current Mood: hopeful

Age: 18 (But I'm almost 19...^_^ 10 more days until my birthday!)
Interests: I like reading, school, some writing, bunnies (I have 2 of my own ^_^ They're my babies), Science fiction, Star Trek, Star Wars (most of the time), superheroes, cooking, knitting, crocheting, latchhooking, driving, pin up girls, sock monkeys, watching old movies, psychology, photography, candles, philosophy, and uh, I think that's it. ^_^
How many journal pals would you like?: I think I would like to start off with one...Really see if I enjoy writing journals to people...And be really committed to one person before I spread myself too thin.
What type of stuff do you think you might include?: I don't really know what I would include. Some days, the journal entry might go like this, "Crap I had a bad day. Later, Rachel." My friends always used to laugh at me for that. Other days the journal entry might be hugely long, and it might be a good day with some philosophical discussion or something. And some good days it'll be short and sweet. So, it kind of depends on my mood that day.
Are you willing to be pals with someone from a different country? Keep in mind the extra postage costs: I think I would like to keep it in this country (U.S.) for now, and then when I get more established and comfortable, I'll expand to other countries...^_^ (I'd really like someone in Memphis, TN...but if you're not there, that's cool too...^_^)

- Penpalling-related questions -
How long have you been penpalling? Since I was 12, though had a break due to getting ill. Now I'd love to get back in writing letters.
How many penpals do you have? 10 now, I'd like to have some more as I am looking for very special people.
Do you ever stop writing to people, and if so, why? I stop if there is nothing in common with us or if I keep getting short or superficial letters that are just written without a thought. I am not going to stop writing due to my illnesses anymore. I admit that I am picky...
How long are your letters? At least 4 A4 front and back (though I usually write on A5 size papers), so I am looking for LONG LETTER pals. Or even notebook pals. I really would like to get into journal penpalling!
How long do you take to reply to letters? I usually write one letter for two days as I need to have a thinking-break in the middle. I write back within two weeks, but usually within a week. But when it comes to notebook plas, of course writing back will take longer.
Do you like to include small gifts with your letters? Yes, if I find something nice.
Do you write on nice stationary? Yes, but if I use a plain blank paper, I will decorate it then.
Do you type your letters? Very rarely, only if my hand hurts.
Anything else? I suffer of chronic depression and eating disorders and I do write about them as well, so if you are someone who can't stand mental illnesses, then you shouldn't write to me. I write long and deep letters, I write about odd things, ugly things, beautiful things, I write about my life, my glorious days and my dark days. I am melancholy person, but I love life anyway, no matter how hard it gets. I am never giving up again.
I respect honesty in my friends and that they are willing to really open their hearts and mind to me while accepting words from my heart in return. Soul mates are what I am looking for, someone to share everything with. Someone to talk about anything under the sun and even things beyond it!
Take a look at my userinfo for more info and there you can find my e-mail address as well. Or comment here. But please do take a look at my userinfo anyway, it has some important info about me!

Greetings from Wisconsin!
reading (I've gotten really interested in historically-based nonfiction, like The Other Boleyn Girl as an example), writing (letters, short stories, poetry), collecting postcards/foreign currency/shot glasses, amateur photography, travel, nature, movies (especially foreign, but really any), crafting (scrapbooking, crochetting, knitting, decoupaging, etc.), MUSIC... and the list goes on!How many journal pals would you like?:
Honestly I'd like just a couple to start out with, but what I'd really like is someone that would be interested in not doing this just "once" but making a thing out of it. Like you do a journal, I do one, repeat. Not just trade once and that's that. Kind of like a very long and drawn out and much more insightful version of penpalling. Make sense? What type of stuff do you think you might include?:
Oh I'm pretty random! Anything from stories about the local area to what I had for breakfast that day to photos and postcards and stickers and poetry and movie reviews! The possibilities are endless. :)Are you willing to be pals with someone from a different country? Keep in mind the extra postage costs:
Absolutely. In fact, I encourage it. Cost is not an issue for me.
If you want to know anything else, just comment and I'll be glad to respond!

Hey everyone! Thanks for joining. As far as I know, this is the only community that exists for journal pen palling, but maybe I just don't use the search interests thing right. :) Anyway, I've found a couple people to journal with, so I'm not going to post for new friends right now, but please do so yourselves.
